The Yaeger CPA review course was not the first CPA review course I ever used. After using a different study course, I only passed one out of four sections of the exam. Phil Yaeger has helped people get ready for the exam for more than 30 years. Yaeger and his team offers something that none of their competitors are currently offering: an "Instructors Hotline" (an 800 number) that people can call to ask questions about the key concepts or about the exam in general. Needless to say, I made regular use of this service and even spoke to Dr. The professors were patient and ensured all my queries were answered before ending the call.
I found the lecture videos quite engaging and led by well qualified teachers. The teacher would initially explain important concepts, and then take students through multiple choice questions and simulations. An advantage with the Yaeger system is they placed emphasis on materials with a high probability of showing up on the exam. Likewise, they would tell candidates to focus more on doing simulation questions with high probability of being in the actual exam.
Also worth noting are Yaeger's cram DVDs which could be responsible for adding between 5 to 15 points to your final CPA results. These cram DVDs are aimed at identifying the student's weakest areas and strengthening those areas right before the exam. I doubt it makes much difference which CPA review course you use, the Yaeger cram DVDs will complement any course and provide lots of last-minute understanding.
Annually, the Yaeger CPA review course is updated. This includes the lesson videos they revamp annually. It means the course is pretty much up to date and you can be assured the material is still appropriate.
Even with their high quality, Yaeger CPA products are priced lower than many other CPA exam review courses.
